If you’re facing a family law issue in Northeast Florida—whether it’s a divorce, child custody dispute, or a post-judgment modification—you don’t have to go straight to court. Instead, many families are turning to a better, faster, and more affordable solution: family law mediation.

At Cooper & Cooper, P.A., we offer certified family law mediation services across Northeast Florida, helping clients settle sensitive matters with less conflict and more control. Whether you’re a parent, spouse, or co-parent, mediation can give you a voice in your outcome—without the emotional and financial drain of a courtroom battle.

What Is Family Law Mediation?

Family law mediation is a confidential, voluntary process where a neutral mediator helps both parties resolve legal disputes outside of court. The mediator facilitates conversation, identifies areas of agreement, and works toward a mutually acceptable solution.

As a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Law Mediator, Anthony Cooper brings legal experience and strategic insight to every session—guiding parties toward fair and enforceable agreements.

What Issues Can Be Handled in Family Mediation?

Our family law mediation services in Northeast Florida include:

  • Parenting plans and time-sharing agreements
  • Child support calculations and modifications
  • Alimony (spousal support) negotiations
  • Division of marital assets and debts
  • Paternity disputes
  • Post-divorce enforcement or modification issues

Whether you’re navigating divorce or need help adjusting a current court order, mediation allows you to avoid litigation and settle matters efficiently.

Benefits of Mediation in Florida Family Law Cases

Save Time

Court cases can drag on for months—or longer. Mediation often wraps up in just a few sessions.

Lower Legal Costs

Mediation typically costs far less than litigation, especially when both parties share expenses.

Stay in Control

You make the decisions—not a judge. That means more customized, lasting solutions.

Reduce Stress

The mediation setting is more private, flexible, and less adversarial than court.

Protect Children from Conflict

Mediation fosters cooperation, which leads to healthier co-parenting and protects kids from unnecessary tension.

Is Mediation Required in Northeast Florida Family Law Cases?

Yes—many counties in Northeast Florida, including Duval, Clay, St. Johns, Putnam, Columbia, and Nassau, require mediation in family law cases before a trial can be scheduled. Whether you’re in Jacksonville, Fleming Island, or a neighboring county, mediation may be a court-ordered step in your case.

Getting ahead of it with a trusted family law mediator in Northeast Florida can help you resolve issues before they escalate—and before they cost you more time and money.
